Barton Creek at Mikes Place                                                                       Barton creek cave isn't just the largest river cave in Belize but also a popular tourist destination in the Cayo District. Its one of the few caves in Belize that has visual evidence of maya activity. Barton Creek has a little bit of everything to offer, including rock formations, artifacts and skeletal remains. The cave can only be toured by canoe and a guide is also recommended to explain in detail what the cave holds. Mikes place has a breathtaking view of nature at its best. Wake up to an amazing view of the mountains and lush green trees hugging you from all around. The river is located feet away from the restaurant so you can access it at anytime of the day.  ...

Santa Rita Archeological Site Santa Rita is located in the Corozal District and is one of the most accessible ruins in the northern area. Excavations uncovering fishing nets and objects made from seashells and stingray spines implicated that Santa Rita was an important lookout for various costal towns. Only one building of Santa Rita stands practically excavated fifty feet above the ground.  Perfect view for pictures with friends and family A short climb up with a spectacular view.

Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley                                                 Located approximately 4 miles south of San-Pedro Ambergris Caye lies an underwater paradise. The Hol Chan Marine reserve and Shark Ray Alley are two famous protected areas i n Belize rich with corals and marine life. If you are a sea lover this is the right place for you. Swim with the sting rays and nurse sharks (which is a species of shark completely harmless to humans) while getting to know more about the reserves and how it came to be.   Traditional Tamales 😍        Tamales are made with seasoned chicken or pork, all wrapped in a special homemade dough called masa and is then steamed in plantain or banana leaves. These Tamales on the above picture are served at the Women's group in San Antonio Cayo. It was served with a vegetable salad drizzled in a homemade peanut sauce with chips.

Making Traditional Corn tortillas at San Antonio Women's Co-op Belize  The Garcia Sisters   The Women's group at San Antonio is a group that shares the Mayan culture with others by preserving their traditions and beliefs. when visiting you will learn how to grind corn into a dough called masa and make traditional corn tortillas. Also, the group provides pottery classes, weaving and other arts. This was really an unforgettable experience. The sisters were so friendly and the atmosphere itself is so welcoming. If you are around San Antonio Cayo take a stop by, you will definitely not regret your experience.
