Santa Rita Archeological Site

Santa Rita is located in the Corozal District and is one of the most accessible ruins in the northern area. Excavations uncovering fishing nets and objects made from seashells and stingray spines implicated that Santa Rita was an important lookout for various costal towns. Only one building of Santa Rita stands practically excavated fifty feet above the ground.
